When people make a hero of an individual , a journalist nonetheless, because he threw a shoe on a president he despises, and rightly so, what does that tell you of our society?

Looking forward to 2009

Well, in short, it's been a tough year.

• A few unsuccessful attempts, hopes raised followed by disappointments
• A miscarriage
  
• Haven't seen my parents and family back in Egypt

But I should be grateful for

• Having such a loving husband
• Still having reasons for hope
  

I'm really looking forward to 2009.
